Interior Drywall Cracks
Drywall can crack from ordinary movement, framing changes, humidity, workmanship, or structural movement. Repeated cracks or multiple related symptoms deserve more attention than a one-time hairline crack.
Exterior Masonry Cracks
Brick and mortar cracking can reflect material movement or movement in the supporting structure. Stair-step or recurring patterns may justify closer evaluation, especially when other symptoms are present.
Cracks Around Doors and Windows
Openings concentrate stresses and can show changes when framing or support moves. Check operation, gaps, trim, and nearby finishes as part of the pattern.
Document Before Repairing Finishes
If a crack concerns you, photograph it and note changes before cosmetic repair. That record can be useful during an evaluation.
