Cracks That Change or Repeat
Drywall, masonry, tile, or concrete cracks can have many causes. Cracks that change, recur after repair, appear in multiple related areas, or occur with other movement can justify a closer look.
Uneven or Sloping Floors
Floors that slope, dip, or feel different across a room can be related to foundation or framing movement, but measurements are needed to understand the pattern.
Sticking Doors or Windows
Openings that suddenly bind, rack, or stop latching can occur as framing moves. Humidity, hardware, or ordinary wear can produce similar symptoms, so context matters.
Gaps and Separations
Changes around trim, cabinets, counters, exterior joints, windows, or doors may be useful clues when they line up with other signs of movement.
Visible Settlement
A portion of the structure appearing lower than another, changes at exterior interfaces, or measured elevation differences may point toward settlement that deserves evaluation.
